The Usual Q. T. Dubai-bound
By Thoroughbredtimes.com
ARCADIA, Calif. (Mar. 6, 2010) -- California-bred The Usual Q. T. (Unusual Heat), winner of the 2009 Hollywood Derby (G1) during a six-race winning streak last year on the turf in Southern California, is being pointed to the $5-million Dubai Duty Free (UAE-G1), reports www.amwestentertainment.com, the simulcast provider to North and South America for the Dubai International Racing Carnival and Dubai World Cup (UAE-G1) card.
Trainer Jim Cassidy confirmed on Wednesday that the four-year-old colt will make the trip to Dubai. The Usual Q. T. will return to turf in the 1,800-meter (8.95-furlong) Dubai Duty Free after finishing ninth as the favorite in the Sunshine Millions Classic Stakes on the synthetic Pro-Ride surface at Santa Anita Park on January 30, snapping the win skein.
